Fine Art Trend Hits Books, Films

Fine art is appearing in several recent books and movies including the #1 New York Times bestselling thriller by Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code, which now has over 5 million copies in print.

Other recent books or films with art themes include the novel The Lady and the Unicorn by Tracy Chevalier, the film Mona Lisa Smile starring Julia Roberts, the film Girl With a Pearl Earring (based on the novel by Tracy Chevalier) starring Scarlett Johansson and The Stendhal Syndrome, an upcoming broadway play.

There was also 2002's Frida which stars Salma Hayek as surrealist Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. It was adapted from the book Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera.
