Arab Poet Ahmed Shawqi Honored With Google Doodle

Google created a doodle to honor Arab poet Ahmed Shawqi. Shawqi was an Egyptian poet credited with helping pioneer the Egyptian literary movement. His home in Giza has been turned into a museum.

The Next Web says the doodle contains a verse from as famous poem by Shawi that "describes his love for home that is unchallenged by self indulgence or immortality."
