Janet Evanovich Signs Eight Book Deal With Random House

Posted on June 24, 2012

Publisher's Weekly reports that bestselling author Janet Evanovich is sticking with Random House. Evanovich has signed an eight-book deal with Ballantine Bantam Dell division. She will write four more books in the Stephanie Plum series, and will write four books in a new series. She will co-author the new series with Lee Goldberg.

The new series features an FBI agent named Kate Winslow and a fugitive named Danny Cole. The first book in the series will hoot bookstores in the fall of 2013. The books are described as a "a thrilling combination of crime, romance, and adventure."

The feature film One for the Money starred Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum did not set the box office on fire. It made $26 million domestic for a worldwide gross of $36,893,721. The reviews were absolutely abysmal, with only a 2% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Somehow we never got to the theater to see it, but how could this movie have been that bad? 2%? Really?

The next novel in the series is Notorious Nineteen, which will be released this November.
