PBS The Business Channel Relaunches

Posted on November 6, 1998

PBS The Business Channel re-launched its website. The revised site include the introduction of free online services for training and business professionals, and improved access to information about its satellite and Web-based distance learning resources for business training.

How Trustworthy are You?, an online assessment for managers, is the first in a new series of Web-based resources on the website. This interactive quiz, developed with Development Dimensions International (DDI), asks users to rate their willingness to take blame, delegate tasks, and share credit when credit's due. The site tabulates scores instantly, allowing managers to find out how they view themselves on a scale of trustworthy beyond reproach, to not very trustworthy.

Also debuting on the PBS Business Channel is a section by point2point Communications Ltd. devoted exclusively to the impending Y2K crisis. With assessments on IT, legal and financial issues, the site shows organizations how to assess their Y2K risk, and become Y2K compliant. The mini-site is a supplement to PBS The Business Channel's upcoming seminar Y2K: Triage for Minimizing Corporate Risk (March 24, 1999).

PBS The Business Channel was formed in 1996 as a joint-venture of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and Williams Companies, an energy and communications firm. PBS, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., is a private, nonprofit corporation operated by the nation’s 345 public television stations.
