2010 Pen USA Literary Award Winners Announced

PEN USA, the West Coast center for International PEN, has unveiled the winners of its 2010 Literary Awards competition. The prizes honor outstanding work by writers in 11 separate genres, including a new award for Graphic Literature. They will be presented at the 20th Annual Literary Awards Festival, known as LitFest, which will be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on the evening of Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Here is a list of the winners:

- Poetry: Amy Catanzano, Multiversal
- The Graphic Literature Award: Matt Fraction
- Creative Nonfiction: Vicki Forman, This Lovely Life
- Research Nonfiction: Minal Hajratwala, Leaving India: My Family's Journey from Five Villages to Five Continents
- Children's/Young-Adult Literature: Paul Fleischman, The Dunderheads
- Journalism: Mary Melton, Julius Shulman in 36 Exposures
- Drama: Julie Hebert, Tree
