The Weather Classroom Offers Teaching Guides

The Weather Classroom, which is an integrated Internet and television educational program, has been launched by The Weather Channel. Designed for teachers by teachers, the Internet teaching guides contain over 200 pages exploring the hows, whys, and wonders of weather. The Internet teacher guide for The Weather Classroom is divided into four easily navigable sections:

The Weather Classroom weekly television program provides teachers with 39 newly created 8-minute episodes -- over 300 minutes of earth science information that is integrated into the web site. The all-new episodes explore weather-related topics ranging from lightening to floods, long range weather forecasting to weather folklore. The Weather Classroom airs commercial and copyright free on The Weather Channel Mondays from 4 to 4:30 a.m. ET and repeats on Thursdays at the same time. The series is part of "Cable in the Classroom", a joint project of cable partners and national cable programmers.
