The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

HarperCollins Children's Books is celebrating the 75th anniversary of C. S. Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This first book in The Chronicles of Narnia was first published in 1950. The 75th anniversary milestone will be marked by new editions and special collections in both the U.S. and U.K.

The new editions include the seven original Narnia books republished with new cover art by Owen Richardson. The new edition of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is pictured above.

Vincent Sieber-Smith, Managing Director of the C. S. Lewis Company, says in the announcement, "What began as a vivid image of a faun carrying an umbrella and parcels in a snowy wood in young C. S. Lewis's mind blossomed into the fantastical world of Narnia, a land where magic meets reality, where good battles evil, and where anything is possible. The Pevensies' journey of courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and redemption continues to resonate with readers everywhere and is as relevant today as it was seventy-five years ago. We are thrilled to be celebrating the enduring impact of this classic work with our partners at HarperCollins."

HarperCollins Children's Books is reissuing all seven Narnia books with new cover art by Owen Richardson. There will also be a deluxe seven-in-one edition featuring Pauline Baynes' original art. A list of some of the 75th anniversary releases can be found below
