New Irish Postage Stamp Contains Short Story
Posted on May 22, 2013A new Irish post stamp issued by Dublin's General Post Office contains a 224 word short story. The stamp was issued to celebrate Dublin's permanent designation in July 2010 as a UNESCO City of Literature. The short story was written last year by Eoin Moore, a regular participant at the Fighting Words creative writing center. The short story was the winner of a competition to capture the "essence of Dublin" in exactly 224 words.
The launch of the new stamp celebrates the 15th annual Dublin Writers Festival, which runs from May 20th to May 26th. The stamp can be found on irishstamps.ie.
