World Wildlife Fund Launches Online Campaign to Save the Amazon

Can't get to the Amazon? The World Wildlife Fund has announced a new Saving the Amazon website. With screeching howler monkeys, chirping macaws, and foliage hanging overhead, World Wildlife Fund's new Saving the Amazon website brings the Amazon River Basin to your desktop.

Saving the Amazon users will find a wealth of information about what makes the Amazon special, with rotating Amazon facts, background information about the incredible biodiversity in the Amazon River Basin, links to more online resources, and what WWF is doing to help protect the area and the species who live there. The Sounds of the Amazon feature brings the howler monkeys and poison arrow frogs to your home or office. You can also send the Amazon to a friend with the Save the Amazon e-postcard.

Saving the Amazon also offers users a wide range of options for supporting WWF's work in the Amazon River Basin and other wild places, including a link to a charity auction hosted by Amazon.com Auctions. The auction will raise money to help WWF protect the Amazon River Basin.
