Wired Ventures announced today the opening of its Chicago office in recognition of explosive growth in Wired's magazine and online revenues and the emergence of the midwest as a white hot new media marketplace. The Wired Ventures Chicago offices, located at 325 West Huron, will house Wired Magazine and Wired Digital.

David Karnstedt has been named Midwest Advertising Director for Wired Digital. Karnstedt was a regional manager with Softbank Interactive Marketing where he lead Web ad sales in the Midwest. "David is a perfect fit for Wired Digital in Chicago. He knows our advertisers and he knows how to create and build a presence in a new market, having done so at Softbank," said Rick Boyce, SVP Advertising and Commerce at Wired Digital.

Tom Moorhead has been named Midwest Advertising Manager for Wired Magazine. Moorhead was formerly Senior Account Executive for the Midwest office of Playboy Magazine. "Tom's many years of experience in the territory make him the ideal candidate to build relationships for Wired in the Midwest. He is strategic and service oriented, exactly the qualities our customers are looking for," said Drew Schutte, Associate Publisher of Wired Magazine.
