Wired Appoints Jeffery Wardell as New Money Columnist

Posted on April 21, 1999

Katrina Heron, editor in chief of Wired, has named Jeffery Wardell as columnist for the magazine. Wardell, a senior vice president of Executive Financial Services at Hambrecht & Quist in San Francisco, will cover emerging market trends in a regular column in the magazine's New Money section.

Wardell has been a contributor to Wired since July of 1997, primarily managing the Wired Investment Portfolio, a model portfolio investing in emerging growth stocks. In the 21 months he has managed the model portfolio, ending April 1, it has returned over 93% versus Nasdaq's 74% and S&P's 45% return.

"Because of this excellent track record and his proximity to cutting-edge trends through his association with Hambrecht & Quist, Jeff can give Wired readers a heads-up on new investment ideas -- not just in the Valley, but all over the country," says Wired business editor, Michael Noer.
