WGBH Online Launches for Dog Lovers

Posted on April 27, 1998

In conjunction with the premiere of the new PBS series WOOF! It's A Dog's Life With Matthew Margolis, WGBH Online launches a companion site to the series, WOOF! Online. The launch of WOOF! Online, located at www.wgbh.org/woof, will coincide with the PBS broadcast of the series this spring and summer.

The content on WOOF! Online will reflect the lighthearted spirit of the series, while also addressing the serious questions dog owners often have about their pets.

For thirteen weeks this spring and summer, veteran Los Angeles dog trainer Matthew Margolis will host WOOF! It's A Dog's Life With Matthew Margolis. Each week he will share his techniques for solving the spectrum of issues facing dog owners, working through such topics as leashbreaking, housebreaking, obedience training, and social problems such as aggression, shyness, and separation anxiety -- always remembering that dogs need "love, praise, and affection." Feature programs include a special on recognizing and curbing aggression and a "Summer Fun Survival Guide." Additional programs will feature segments on activities to do with your pet, canine personality types, health and nutrition tips, celebrities with their dog or a celebrity dog. Roger Clinton, Linda Blair, Lou Ferigno, Shannon Doherty, comedian Fred Travalena, and ER's Ellen Crawford are among the celebrity dog owners on WOOF! this season.
