Warren St. John Joins Wired Magazine As Senior Writer

Posted on September 14, 1998

Katrina Heron, Editor in Chief of Wired magazine, announced that Warren St. John, formerly of the New York Observer, has been appointed to Wired as Senior Writer. St. John, who has been writing The Observer's "Off the Record" media column since January of 1998, will also cover media at Wired, in addition to business, technology, culture, and the new economy. "Warren is an enormously talented reporter who truly dominates his beat," says Heron. "He'll be a great addition to the new Wired."

St. John's columns at The Observer included coverage of Bertelsmann A.G.'s purchase of Random House, the Stephen Glass affair at The New Republic and other major stories related to media and publishing, including Tina Brown's departure from The New Yorker. From 1995 to 1996, St. John contributed to The New Yorker's "Talk of the Town" column. Mr. St. John will work out of Wired's New York offices.
