VNU Announces Acquisition of CMP UK and France

VNU, an international publishing and information company, and the British media group United News and Media, have announced that they have reached an agreement regarding the acquisition of CMP's publishing portfolios in the UK and France. VNU will also take over the international sales representation for CMP's US publications through its London based sales operation Global Media.
VNU, the leading European IT publisher, currently owns the largest IT portfolio in the UK including the titles Computing, Network News, PC Dealer, ComputerActive, Personal Computer World, and in France SVMMac, SVM and Network News. CMP's UK titles Information Week, Network Week and Computer Reseller News and the French titles Informatique and Computer Reseller News will be integrated into the VNU publishing portfolio.
Simultaneously the two companies announced that they have renewed their strategic alliance for IT-exhibitions in the UK whilst in France both companies will start to explore new launch activities in the area of IT-exhibitions and conferences.
