VideoGame Advisor Increases Frequency

The interactive entertainment industry's leading trade publication, VideoGame Advisor, announced that the magazine has increased both its frequency and its controlled circulation in conjunction with the official re-launch in January. The re-launch will also signify a name change for the publication from VGA to GameWEEK, the "Newspaper of the Interactive Gaming Industry."
Cyberactive Publishing President, Hal Halpin, commented, "The expanding marketplace for interactive entertainment necessitates that we make these changes to the publication for both our readers and our advertisers. An industry that counts its worth in the tens of billions annually requires regularly updated information, objective and honest appraisals of products and the business insight that only our highly respected editorial staff can provide. We are simply meeting the demand that both our readers and our advertisers have been asking for some time."
GameWEEK will launch in VGA's place this January marking the beginning of the circulation and frequency enhancements -- VGA was a monthly publication, GameWEEK will be bi-weekly. The magazine's Circulation Manager, Suzanne Manning, said, "We have spent the past year adding and qualifying thousands of industry professionals, including leading retail store managers, developers, producers, designers, and artists. Simply put, this move will ensure GameWEEK's position as the gaming industry's foremost business-to-business information resource." The magazine has had a continuous growth in its circulation curve since inception. "We have repeatedly exceeded our advertisers expectations over the past three years. For 1996 we guaranteed a minimum controlled circulation of 45,000 professionals; we delivered an average of 52,000," said Manning.
