Posted on August 28, 1997

Upside magazine and David Coursey today announced dates for the second annual Internet Showcase conference. The executive conference one editor called "the hottest gathering in the industry" is scheduled for January 27-30, 1998 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina, in San Diego, California.

David Bunnell, CEO of Upside Media, says in the announcement, "We were overwhelmed by the response to last year's conference. The sponsors, the vendors who brought great products to show, the media and the conference attendees were outstanding, and we are very proud to be bringing this event back in 1998."

Internet Showcase was a sell-out during its first year, with more than 750 industry executives in attendance. Attendees included venture capitalists, private investors, executives of computer industry companies, media and analysts. In 1997, more than 50 editors and journalists attended the entire conference, including representatives of Time, CNN, Business Week, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and major computer industry publications such as PC Magazine, PC World, PC Week, and many others. CNET and Computer Chronicles taped TV specials during the conference, ZD Radio broadcast live, and another 20 journalists dropped in for a portion of the conference.
