Posted on September 3, 1998
United Publications has announced CC News, a business newspaper for call center and customer care professionals. Call centers are the point of customer contact, including outbound telephone sales centers where companies call potential customers to solicit business, and inbound centers, where customers direct inquiries for more information about a company's products and services.
The call-center market is growing dramatically. Sales generated from outbound centers should reach $600 billion by the year 2000, according to the Direct Marketing Association. In addition, inbound centers are growing in value in every vertical market as companies recognize their potential for data collection, customer capture and customer retention.
Robert Mirani, senior analyst, Telecommunications Research and Consulting, The Yankee Group. says in a statement, "The call center and customer-care industry is evolving beyond just an island within a company to being an integral part of the business. Call center professionals need a business publication that brings them up to speed not only on emerging technologies, but on how their peers are solving business problems in this time of change."
CC News will debut in February 1999, and will be mailed to 30,000 subscribers. It will be published eight times in 1999, and monthly in 2000. It is the eigth business newspaper produced by United Publications, which also publishes Golf Course News, Golf Course News International, Gourmet News, Kitchenware News, Security Systems News, HME News and Service News.
