Trailer for Twixt Starring Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern and Elle Fanning

Here is the trailer for Francis Ford Coppola's new movie, Twixt. The film stars Val Kilmer as Hall Baltimore, a down on his luck novelist who usually writes about witches. While at a sparsely attended book signing in a small town, the local sheriff (Bruce Dern) asks him to cooperate with him on writing a nonfiction book about a real-life murder that occurred in the town. Elle Fanning plays a young woman named V who appears to Hall in a dream as a ghost.

Coppola took the trailer to Comic-Con and said that the Gothic horror film was inspired by dreams he had about Edgar Allen Poe and orphan girls. This appears to be new territory for Coppola, who wrote and directed the film. It's certainly unlike anything he's done before. We enjoyed Kilmer's portrayal of a writer who just can't get that perfect opening sentence. Take a look:
