American Lawyer Media, Inc., a media company focused on professional markets, has announced that journalist Tony Mauro, currently Supreme Court Correspondent for USA Today, will join ALM's news staff, effective January 3. In his new role, Mauro will serve as Supreme Court correspondent for ALM's 21 national and regional legal magazines and newspapers, including The American Lawyer, as well as a contributor of legal analysis, features and columns, including his current bi-weekly "Courtside" column which appears in Legal Times and other ALM publications.

Mauro has covered the Supreme Court for more than 20 years for USA Today, the Gannett News Service and usatoday.com. Mauro was awarded a certificate of merit by the American Bar Association's Silver Gavel Award Program for his in-depth 1998 reporting on the role of law clerks at the Supreme Court.

"Tony Mauro is one of the nation's most experienced and respected legal journalists," said Aric Press, editorial director of American Lawyer Media. "He covers the Supreme Court like no one else and we're delighted that he has chosen to join us."
