Timestar Announces Publisher Appointment

Posted on January 9, 1998

Timestar Communications, the owner of Nursing Weekly, today announced the appointment of Annette Weinberg as publisher.

Nursing Weekly is a weekly newspaper mailed free to about 35,000 nurses in Northeast Ohio. Distribution includes Cuyahoga and Summit counties, along with parts of Lorain, Medina, Portage, Geauga and Lake counties. It is the only newspaper exclusively serving the nursing profession in these communities.

"With healthcare changing rapidly, the nursing profession is evolving in Northeast Ohio, as it is nationally," Weinberg said. "Our staff looks forward to continuing its coverage of healthcare trends and issues, professional responsibilities, and medical and clinical news. I especially look forward to being actively involved in promoting nurses in the community."

The Weinberg family acquired Nursing Weekly late last year from SunMedia, which launched the publication in 1996. SunMedia, which publishes 23 weekly suburban newspapers in the Cleveland area, has announced plans to be acquired by Advance Publications Inc., which also publishes The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer
