Thedigs.com Introduces Portable Online Community

Posted on July 2, 1999

TheDigs.com has announced the preview of its new portable online community where people can create "digs" or online homes. Also, thedigs.com will soon offer its members the ability to use their palm computing devices as access devices to information stored on their digs.

"While current online communities offer their members some features that can help them organize their lives, none can match the level of information people can create and share using thedigs.com," said Ron Hirson, chief executive officer of thedigs.com. "We offer our members over twenty proprietary Web-based applications we call 'stuff.' Using stuff, our members can share information from their lives like their own personal movie reviews, book recommendations, recipes, chore lists, travel itineraries, favorite links, anything they would share with others in their everyday lives. And very soon, they will able to use their palm computing devices to do all of this."

Members of thedigs.com will be able to create an online "home" or digs where they can organize and update personal information. To do this, members can add proprietary Web-based applications known as "stuff" that will allow them to customize their digs in a manner reflective of that member's life.

Update: TheDigs site is no longer live.
