The Green Travel Network Launches Online Guide to Hiking and Biking in Europe
Posted on February 26, 1998
The Green Travel Network has launched a new online guide to hiking and biking. The site facilitates info sharing among active travelers, and provides original content to help travelers navigate the sea of information that's available, both on the Web and in print.
"This guide is for travelers who want to get out of the cities and see the real Europe, up close and personal," says Sean Greene, President of GTN. "It's a way to see Europe in a manner that a European would travel."
The Guide identifies Europe's best destinations for biking, hiking, and walking, and then offers practical information to help get you there: decisions to make, trip options and costs, FAQ, and recommended guidebooks. The site also features direct reports from other travelers, offering useful advice on where to go and what to bring. GTN then hooks you up with operators to help plan your trip as well as links to other useful resources.
GTN has also announced that it is making this guide and other content from the site available for licensing. In a special introductory offer, GTN will not charge a licensing fee.
The Green Travel Network was launched last year as an online community for ecotourism, adventure and active travel.
