The Earth Times Website Relaunches

Posted on January 23, 1998

The Earth Times this week launched a redesigned Web site at http://www.earthtimes.org. The new look enhances many new features that make The Earth Times indispensable to anyone concerned with the environment and sustainable development.

The new Web edition is designed by Louis Silverstein, former Assistant Managing Editor and Corporate Art Director of The New York Times. It will have a feature story that will remain on the site for a two-week period...while offering two new stories each day as in the past. The featured article starting Jan. 21 is The Earth Times's "Man of the Year," Klaus Schwab, founder and president of the prestigious World Economic Forum, which convenes the annual Davos Meeting in Switzerland for global leaders in business, government, academe, science and the media. The Web site will also feature daily news coverage of this year's Davos Meeting from January 28 through February 5.

An on-site search engine and improved navigation tools simplify finding the many articles and pictures published in the Web e dition and maintained in its database. Particularly useful for researchers and students, The Earth Times archives are a treasure of information for anyone wishing in depth information. The daily news journal, published by the not-for-profit Earth Times Foundation, specifically explores the subject of change--how individuals and institutions work in their own societies to tackle their challenges and generate positive change in social and economic conditions.
