Texas Monthly to Publish New Business Magazine

Posted on August 7, 1998

Michael R. Levy, publisher of Texas Monthly, announced that the editors of Texas Monthly will produce a new business publication in March 1999 titled Texas Monthly Biz. Levy says, "This publication will contain the same exceptional quality of stories people have been reading in Texas Monthly for the last twenty-five years -- only with a business focus. Anyone doing business in this state will want to read this magazine."

The magazine will be provided to current subscribers of Texas Monthly as well as those who purchase the March issue on newsstands. Additional distribution to targeted prominent business executives in the state will be secured.

Evan Smith, deputy editor and editor of special projects for Texas Monthly, will be the editor of Texas Monthly Biz. Smith says, "We will use some of the best writers in Texas, those writers familiar to Texas Monthly readers including some current staff members and some regular contributors." According to Smith, "The editorial line up for the publication will include features on the major players in Texas business, both the new powers and the old stars, from high finance to high tech."
