Sun-Sentinel Company, a Tribune Publishing company, announced an agreement to acquire South Florida Newspaper Network Inc., a publisher of 33 weekly newspapers in South Florida. South Florida Newspaper Network's publications reach a combined circulation of approximately 700,000 and a readership of more than 1 million throughout South Florida. The network publishes the Jewish Journal, a collection of six newspapers serving South Florida's Jewish community and one of the largest Jewish newspapers in the country. The company, headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Fla., also publishes 12 magazines.

"The South Florida Newspaper Network is a very successful company, and we see this purchase as one more way the Sun-Sentinel can continue to grow," said Sun-Sentinel Company President Bob Gremillion. "This will help us reach our goal of becoming South Florida's leading information provider."
