Posted on March 6, 1998

The first magazine dedicated to the unique field of Internet and online investing, StockTrends' Online Investor, has named its editorial staff in preparation for the publication's launch in June of 1998. Jan Parr, who boasts an impressive background that combines senior editorial positions in both finance and Internet-related publications, has been selected to head the new magazine and provide a new voice to the millions of independent investors who have taken control of their financial futures.

Online Investor is the first regular frequency magazine focusing on online equity trading, research and investing. Unlike other financial magazines, only Online Investor provides readers with a consistent link to the online environment that more and more investors are turning to before making their investment decisions. Online Investor premieres with a July/August issue hitting newsstands June 2, 1998. An initial bimonthly release schedule is planned.

Jan Parr's 15 years of journalism experience ranges from Internet-based magazines to conventional business reporting. She has served as Editor of Dividends Magazine and Managing Editor of Connect-Time, a syndicated Internet guide magazine. Parr's background also includes reporting for Forbes and a senior editorship at Chicago Magazine. Her byline has appeared in Crain's Chicago Business, Mutual Funds Magazine, and many other publications.

"I am grateful to be given this opportunity to be on the cutting-edge of finance and technology," said Jan Parr, Editor of Online Investor. "The Internet has changed the face of investing forever. More people are taking control of investing decisions, and the Internet gives everyone the opportunity to access ideas previously available only to high-priced financial managers. Online Investor will discuss issues facing independent investors and provide a comprehensive guide to where the best information can be found. It is our intention to make Online Investor the most reliable source of such information for the millions that choose to invest online."
