Steve Weitzner Named CEO of CMP Media

United Business Media has announced the appointment of Steve Weitzner as Chief Executive Officer of CMP Media. Weitzner has been Chief Operating Officer of CMP Media since 2002. He will report to David Levin, CEO of United Business Media. Gary Marshall, CMP's current Chief Executive Officer, is leaving the company to pursue other interests. A 29-year publishing veteran, Steve began his career with CMP Media in 1984, having left Hearst Business Communications. Prior to his position as COO, Steve was president of CMP Electronics Group and held many positions in the Electronics Group, including editor, associate publisher, publisher, publishing director, group publisher, and EVP, group president.
