Stan Lee Wins Spider-Man Profits

Posted on January 21, 2005

Stan Lee, the comic book artist and writer who created many popular superheroes including Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, X-Men and Daredevil, has won a court battle against comic book publisher Marvel.

The BBC reports that judge upheld Lee's demands for 10% of Marvel's profits from the blockbuster Spider-Man films -- which could means tens of millions in profits for Lee.

About the settlement Lee said, "I am gratified by the judge's decision although, since I am deeply fond of Marvel and the people there, I sincerely regret that the situation had to come to this."
