Specialized Contest Search Engine Debuts on Internet

Posted on January 13, 1998

World Promotions and Marketing, Inc. announced major changes to its already popular web site, Contestworld. Originally launched in 1996 as a contest and sweepstakes index, Contestworld has been completely redesigned as a content specific, database driven search engine.

Entering contests and sweepstakes has always been a popular pastime. But winning, or at least trying to, has never been easier. The advent of the Internet with its online entry forms has brought contesting into the mainstream. Contest enthusiasts employ various search engines in their quest to find winning opportunities. Very often, though, trying to locate anything on the World Wide Web via search engines can be an effort in futility; responses to any search query can yield thousands of non-relevant responses. What makes Contestworld different is, that as a database driven search engine, it produces only relevant responses.

Billing itself as "the largest contest and sweepstakes database in the world," Contestworld lists hundreds of Internet based contests and sweepstakes. The database is searchable by both 'keyword' and 'category' making it even easier for visitors to find exactly what they are looking for. In addition to this, Contestworld offers a monthly newsletter providing entry information about non-Internet based contests and sweepstakes.
