SonicNet and Swisscom to Launch SonicNet Switzerland

Posted on January 22, 1998

SonicNet, an Internet leading music entertainment company, will launch SonicNet Switzerland in conjunction with the Internet access service The Blue Window, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Switzerland's national telephone company, Swisscom.

The new SonicNet Switzerland site, which will debut in the spring in 1998, will feature multimedia journalism (including audio excerpts of songs, video clips, interview sound bytes, and plenty of photos) from SonicNet's editorial team, with local articles and reviews created by the SonicNet Switzerland staff. The site will also include SonicNet's acclaimed daily Music News of the World section.

SonicNet Switzerland will be available in four languages -- English, French, German and Italian.

For the debut, SonicNet Switzerland will include features on England's Space Monkeys, singer Sarah McLaughlan, trip-hop innovators Portishead, along with columns by acclaimed critic Dave Marsh, eccentric musician/producer David Was and SonicNet editor-in-chief Michael Goldberg and others, and reviews (with sound excerpts) of the latest albums from Pearl Jam, Spice Girls, Ultramagnetic MCs, Funkdoobiest, Sensational and many more.
