SonicNet Album Reviews Website Debuts

Posted on August 31, 1998

SonicNet Music Network, an online music network, is launching albumreviews.com, a new music album reviews website on September 1st. The new site will feature two new album reviews daily, five days a week, album-related news, an upcoming releases page and access to the entire Addicted to Noise/ SonicNet album reviews archive. Included in each review will be some excerpts from the albums lasting approximately thirty seconds each.

"SonicNet's albumreviews.com will provide fans of contemporary music with the best reviews of new albums on or off the Web," says SonicNet Senior Vice-President and Editorial Director Michael Goldberg, who will oversee the site. "The SonicNet team has spent months creating a website that combines ease of use, a state-of-the-art interface and top quality reviews and news. For the first time, there is a high quality multi-media album reviews site."

Reviews of all genres of contemporary music -- including alternative, rock, hip-hop, electronic, ska, new depression country, swing and dance -- will be featured at albumreviews.com. Album reviews are written by the SonicNet Music News of the World and Addicted to Noise stable of critics. Musicians will also be occasionally contributing reviews. The site will also include an archive of at least 1,000 album reviews (all with sound samples) and a section where users rate new albums.
