Software Publishers Join Forces To Promote Girl's Software Titles

Posted on November 4, 1997

The software publishers leading this year's explosive growth in girl-targeted software today launched a collaborative effort to mutually promote their own products while building the girls' software category. The site, called GIRL - Girls Interactive Resource Library is located at just4girls.com. GIRL will include 17 girls' titles from 10 publishers, and act as a one-stop stop parent resource by identifying a variety of CD-ROM titles available for girls of all ages.

The coalition of publishers includes: Broderbund, Creative Wonders, CUC, Girl Games, Her Interactive, IBM, The Learning Company, Pleasant Company, PrintPaks and Purple Moon. The products are organized by age group – under 8, 8-12, and over 12. Each category includes a list of age-appropriate titles for which users can see box shots and brief product descriptions. For additional information or to order products, users can hot link to each company’s corporate site. In addition, the site will prominently feature a different product every 30 seconds on the just4girls home page.

Update The Just4girls site is no longer available.
