Wiesner Publishing has acquired Software Magazine, a monthly publication for senior information technology managers and professionals with enterprise software purchasing authority. Wiesner acquired the magazine from The Sentry Group, which was a consulting, research, and publishing company. The acquisition was official May 29, 1998.

President Dan Wiesner said, "This is a key addition to our company as we continue to add titles. It is our fourth new magazine in two years and there will be more to come. Information technology is where this company had much of its early success and we will continue to explore additional opportunities."

Software Magazine has been growing during the past year. Current circulation increased to 110,000 from 67,500 and is audited by BPA. Software Magazine is published 12 times a year. The Year 2000 Survival Guide is published quarterly in 1998 and will be published 6 times in 1999. In addition, Software Magazine publishes a "Strategic Initiatives Series" focusing on key information management issues including Enterprise Information Management, Application Development, Software Quality and Testing, and Value Chain Management.
