Score Association and Visa Launch Financial Management Workbook Series

The SCORE Association (Service Corps of Retired Executives) and Visa U.S.A. are pleased to announce the availability of a two-part workbook series designed to provide small business owners with the financial management tools they need to build a successful business.

These free small business guides are available at SCORE’s 389 chapter offices nationwide by calling (800) 634-0245. The workbooks, titled "How to Secure Financing" and "How to Choose the Best Bank for Your Business," provide tips, techniques and guidelines to help entrepreneurs with financial planning and cash-flow management. Topics include strategies for forecasting cash-flow projections, choosing the right bank and developing a partner relationship with that institution. The guides also provide insight into the types of risks bankers weigh when considering applicants for a loan, and what entrepreneurs can do to address and overcome the risks. The series highlights how small business owners can obtain expert assistance with their financial issues and lists resourceful organizations, such as SCORE and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The SCORE and Visa U.S.A. alliance was formed on June 11, 1997, in an effort to identify emerging trends in the small business community and provide information on how small business owners can move forward with their financial management in the face of changing market dynamics. In addition to obtaining the workbooks, small business owners can visit the SCORE Web site at http://www.score.org for email counseling and the Visa Small Business Web site at http://www.visa.com/smallbiz for a list of monthly financial management tips, SCORE success stories and the opportunity to participate in monthly online surveys that poll current issues and concerns of small business owners.
