Scholastic Signs Publishing Deal with Shaquille O'Neal

Scholastic Inc. and Los Angeles Lakers NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal signed a major publishing deal to create a children's collection of "fractured" fairy tales intended for readers ages 6-9. Shaq And The Beanstalk And Six Other Very Tall Tales will be published by Scholastic in the fall of 1999.

Told in first person narrative, Shaq And The Beanstalk And Six Other Very Tall Tales combines traditional storytelling with Shaq's dynamic personality to create unique versions of the most classic fairy tales. The book features an oversized, "very tall" format, with each of the seven tales linked by a clue or character leading readers from one story to the next.
