Rolling Stone Announces Joint Venture with JAMTV Corp

JAMTV.com and rollingstone.com will merge to create The Rolling Stone Network, a comprehensive music site featuring nightly live and archived performances. The joint announcement was made by JAMTV Corporation and Wenner Media Incorporated, parent company of Rolling Stone.

In the new site, JAMTV will utilize its capabilities for multimedia to broadcast live, streaming audio/video concerts; daily video news webcasts; and special events, including awards shows, festivals and chat sessions. Rolling Stone magazine's legendary music editorial will provide the network with multimedia enhanced feature stories, album reviews and photographs, as well as thirty years of unparalleled archival material. In addition, the Rolling Stone Network will feature a fully stocked online warehouse of CDs and tour merchandise. JAMTV will continue to supply syndicated music content and live events to its radio station affiliates.

The Rolling Stone Network, which will reside at the www.rollingstone.com address, is slated to be fully functional by first quarter 1998. Rolling Stone will be responsible for the news and editorial content and JAMTV will provide the technology, additional content and performance photography, webcasts, site support and infrastructure.
