Richard Clarke to Pen Geopolitical Thriller

Richard Clarke, who was a member of both President Clinton and President Bush's National Security Counter-terrorism staff, is embarking on a new career to write thriller novels. Clarke has spoken out against the Bush administration's weak anti-terrorism policies and decisions He shed more light on their mistakes in his nonfiction bestseller, Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror. Clarke will now write a geopolitical thriller about war in the Middle East and political intrigue back home.

Clarke said in the announcement, "Fiction can often tell the truth better than nonfiction; characters and plot can drive home that truth to the reader more effectively than cold facts and analysis."

Clarke's novel will be released in Fall 2005.
