Restaurant Report Announces New Release of Top 100 Hospitality Sites

Posted on January 15, 1998

The Restaurant Report, a print and online trade publication for the hospitality industry, has compiled an award program featuring the Top 100 Hospitality Sites.

Believed to be a first of its kind in the industry, the Restaurant Report Top 100, utilized a qualitative/quantitative system for selecting the Top 100 list. Sites were reviewed based on four criteria: Content, Navigation, Design, and Overall Experience. Each category is scored on a 1-25 scale with a total possible score of 100. Scores for the winners ranged from 87 to a perfect score of 100, which was awarded to four websites.

The Top 100 is being released in what publisher Robert Bickell calls a "growing format." "While we went to great extent to search out the best hospitality sites out there, we're not so presumptuous as to suggest we found them all." The current Top 100 actually only contains 75 listings. The Restaurant Report Top 100 is designed to be a growing list for the first six months of 1998. Five new sites will be added to the list each month through June.

The award winning Restaurant Report Internet site features 300+ pages of information for hospitality professionals, a free e-mail based newsletter, and several other special online features.
