Ray Bradbury Loves Graphic Novel Version of Fahrenheit 451

Posted on August 3, 2009

USA Today reports that Ray Bradbury says that a new authorized graphic novel version of his famous novel, Fahrenheit 451, is "beautiful." He is also still hoping that movie based on Fahrenheit 451 will someday be made.

Ray Bradbury also talks about how an illustrated Beauty and the Beast and Buck Rogers comics motivated him to read. He was asked whether or not he was concerned that some young readers might only read the graphic novel of Fahrenheit 451.

Bradbury says, "I don't know, but I know when I was 5 years old, my parents gave me an illustrated version of Beauty and the Beast, and I loved it so much that I decided that I had to learn to read, and I did."

Fahrenheit 451: The Authorized Adaptation was illustrated by Tim Hamilton. It contains an introduction by Ray Bradbury. We agree with Bradbury. The artwork in the graphic novel looks very impressive.
