Peter Krass to Head CMPnet's Planet IT as Editor

Peter Krass has been named Editor of CMPnet's Planet IT, an online community for information technology (IT) executives set to debut this September. Krass, an eighteen-year technology industry veteran, was most recently Managing Editor/Features of CMP's InformationWeek magazine.

"Peter Krass has his finger on the pulse of the IT community," said Rebecca S. Barna, Vice President/Group Publisher for CMP's Internet Media Group. "I'm confident that his in-depth knowledge of our audience, his vast experience in technology industry journalism and his unique management style will help us grow PlanetIT right from the start."

Krass joined CMP's InformationWeek in 1990 as Senior Writer and held several editorial positions there. Before joining the company, Krass served as Managing Editor of the BusinessWeek Newsletter for Information Executives and worked as a freelance journalist, writing for publications including Computer Systems News, VARBusiness, Datamation, and Venture. Krass also wrote a children's biography of the abolitionist Sojourner Truth, as well as several film scripts, including a Cine Golden Eagle winner.
