The original titles will be published by Putnam (hardcover), Perigee (trade paper) and Berkley (mass market) as appropriate.

"The public's interest in the entertainment business continues to increase exponentially and Variety is delighted to be associated with Perigee in developing a series of lively comprehensive books that will feed this interest," says Peter Bart, vice president and editor-in-chief of Variety. "As the international entertainment weekly, Variety has the largest staff of reporters world-wide of any publication reporting on the show biz scene and these resources will be mobilized in developing this series of books." Variety also publishes Los Angeles and New York based dailies.
