PennWell Acquires Five Electronics Manufacturing Titles

PennWell, a global media company, has acquired five magazines from IHS Publishing Group based in Libertyville, Ill. The five magazines are SMT, Advanced Packaging, Connector Specifier, Vacuum & Thinfilm and SMT Asia Pacific Edition.

Joseph A. Wolking, president and chief executive officer of PennWell, commented, "These new titles come with highly respected reputations and offer excellent platforms for integrated franchise development."

These publications will be published by Advanced Technology Division's Computer & Electronics Group based in Nashua and headed by Bill Pryor, senior vice president. According, to Pryor, "PennWell will be retaining key editorial and management personnel from IHS and will maintain a Chicago-area office near the current Libertyville operation. Key management team members that will continue with PennWell in important roles include Marsha Robertson, vice president and general manager of IHS Publishing Group, and Greg Reed, editor of SMT, Advanced Packaging, and Connector Specifier."
