Peanuts Website to be Redesigned

Posted on October 17, 1997

Tumble Interactive Media, Inc. has won the contract from United Media to redesign the "Peanuts" World Wide Web Site, planned to launch in Fall 1997. In addition to a complete redesign of the Web site for the syndicated comic strip, Tumble plans to introduce numerous new features that, will make the site an informative, entertaining, and highly interactive experience.

"We are delighted that Tumble will be helping United Media in revitalizing PEANUTS's on-line presence," commented Michael Zimbalist, General Manager of On-line Services for United Media. "Tumble's initial concept was so in-tune with the property and the characters that it was an easy decision. As PEANUTS approaches its 50th anniversary in the year 2000, we are excited to be giving Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the entire team an interactive, innovative, and fun Web Site."

The current Peanuts Web site was created in celebration of the comic strip's 45th anniversary. The strip is one of the longest running in syndication, due to the creative genius of the strip's creator, Charles Schulz.

The redesign will have wide-ranging appeal, targeting four largest groups of Peanuts fans: adults who grew up reading the strip; children who inherited the love of it from their parents and grew up watching Peanuts video and TV shows; collectors of Peanuts memorabilia; and comic art aficionados who appreciate Charles Schulz's dedication and the history of the strip.
