PBS Online Launches Kratts' Creatures Website

Having explored some of the world’s most remote locales on their PBS wildlife adventure series Kratts’ Creatures, brothers Martin and Chris Kratt today tackle a new frontier -- the World Wide Web -- with the launch of the Kratts’ Creatures Web site on PBS ONLINE.

Accessible through the PBS Kids neighborhood on PBS ONLINE, the Kratts’ Creatures Web site will introduce children and the adults who care for them to all types of amazing creatures in exotic lands, as well as those in their own backyards. Featuring interactive games, activities, jokes, trivia and opportunities for children to create their own submissions, the Kratts’ Creatures site allows children to explore the fascinating and funny "creaturnalities" of animals the world over.

"Since the launch of the PBS Kids neighborhood in April, we've been deluged with requests to create a Kratts’ Creatures Web site," said John Hollar, executive vice president of PBS Learning Ventures. "We think parents, kids and teachers everywhere will enjoy this offbeat, fun and smart site."

More than 2,000 young Web surfers from around the country volunteered to help "beta test" the site before its debut. Set against a jungle backdrop, the Kratts’ Creatures home page invites visitors to choose their own "Creature Adventure" by picking from six options on the "Creature Signpost."

"Visiting the Kratts’ Creatures Web site is like going on an electronic creature adventure," said Chris Kratt. "Kids who watch our show can now find us online and explore the creature world from their computers."
