Owner-Breeder, a ten-year-old publication specializing in the bloodstock sector of the thoroughbred horseracing industry, has been acquired by a group of investors it was announced Friday. The magazine's founding publisher Jack Werk, will remain with Owner-Breeder as a partner responsible for strategic planning and marketing.

The investment group includes international bloodstock writer and pedigree analyst, Alan Porter, and Neil Cook, former editor-in-chief of Daily Racing Form and co-founder of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Internet company Wire-2-Wire, LLC.

In the February issue of Owner-Breeder, Werk explains his decision to divest a majority interest in the magazine. "I am proud that Owner-Breeder has carved a niche in the thoroughbred industry, and overwhelmed that many of the most important breeders in the world subscribe to it," he said.
