Online Game Vets Launch The Big Network

Posted on June 29, 1998

The Big Network has announced its new entertainment site. The site offers interactive web-based games include arcade games, multi-player board games, card games, trivia games and gameshow games. The Big Network also features other diversions: The Daily Post, a collection of free daily e-mails with information about recipes, sports, history, and jokes; The Big Picture -- customized electronic postcards; and The Buzz, a fun take on today's news.

Big Network CEO Steve Sellers says in a statement, "The Big Network is for the web user who has 15 minutes and wants to have a little fun. We believe that people are looking for fun on the Web and we're going to give it to them."

Steve Sellers along with Mike Sellers and John Hanke founded the Big Network to pursue a common vision: to build a community around on-line games accessible to everyone, not just hard-core gamers. Lauren Elliott, creator of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, joined the company to design games and activities.

Update: The Big Network site is no longer available.
