Posted on June 25, 1998

A website with more than 100 pages of articles, PR firm rankings, job listings and other news and information of use to PR professionals and others has been opened by the 30-year-old J.R. O'Dwyer Co. The site describes the seven O'Dwyer publications and gives useful news and information to those who access it including rankings of 206 PR firms in 21 U.S. cities and by 11 specialties (high-tech, healthcare PR, etc.) and two articles on how to hire and obtain the best results from PR firms. A "Job Corner" lists PR jobs throughout the U.S. with a monthly column of advice by a PR recruiting specialist is also part of the site.

News stories, commentary and features from the weekly O'Dwyer Newsletter and monthly O'Dwyer magazine are on the site. "We will build a library of important topics for PR people that will be added to as needed," said publisher Jack O'Dwyer, who was a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and former New York Journal-American before starting his company 30 years ago.

Besides the newsletter and magazine, the O'Dwyer publications include a biweekly, Washington, D.C., newsletter; a biweekly carrying job want-ads, and directories of PR firms, corporate PR departments, and biographies of PR professionals.
