NuvoMedi Announces First Shipment of Its Rocket eBook

NuvoMedia Inc. has announced that its Rocket eBook is now available for purchase by consumers. During a launch event at the New York City flagship store of Barnes & Noble, Martin Eberhard, NuvoMedia's Cofounder and CEO also named publishers that will begin to roll out current book titles, as well as news services in electronic format for the Rocket eBook.

"This is a momentous day, not just for NuvoMedia but for book lovers everywhere. We have taken a favorite pastime, reading, and brought it into the future," exclaimed Eberhard. "With the overwhelming support of the publishing community, which is supplying a wealth of titles for Rocket eBook readers to enjoy, the promise that electronic books holds is now a reality."

Publishers supplying content for the Rocket eBook include Addison Wesley Longman, O'Reilly & Associates, Bloomberg Financial Markets, Penguin Putnam Inc, Farrar, Strauss & Giroux, HarperCollins Publishers, Simon & Schusterrs, Harvard Business Schools Press, St. Martin's Pressl Press, Henry Holt and Company, Inc, Tor Books, Inc., Macmillan Computer Publishing, The Wall Street Journal and McGraw-Hill Publishing. The Rocket eBook is 22-oz. hand-held information appliance can hold at least 4,000 pages (about 10 novels) of text and graphics at a time.
