NTC/Contemporary Publishing Group Purchases Keats Publishing

NTC/Contemporary Publishing Group, a Tribune Education company, announced the acquisition of Keats Publishing, Inc., one of the country's leading book publishers devoted to health, nutrition and alternative medicine. Keats Publishing, founded in 1971, currently offers more than 350 active titles and publishes approximately 40 new books a year, primarily authored by prominent doctors and well-known medical professionals. Keats' publishing mission is "Medicine for the 21st Century" with a special focus on vitamins, herbs, minerals and other nutrients that help people lead healthier lives. Among the Keats titles are the Good Health Guides, a series of more than 100 single-topic consumer books.

NTC/Contemporary Publishing Group publishes books for consumers in categories such as health, childcare and parenting, sports and fitness, cooking, foreign languages, reference, travel, business, careers, crafts and juvenile. NTC/Contemporary publishes more than 700 new titles annually.

Keats Publishing will remain at its present location in New Canaan, Conn. Editorial operations will report to Lowell House, NTC/Contemporary's Los Angeles-based division.
