NewStar Media Acquires Romance Alive Library of Audio Titles

NewStar Media Inc. announced the acquisition of exclusive distribution rights for NewStar Publishing to the Romance Alive Library of audio books. The Romance Alive line consists of more than 30 romance novels by leading authors such as Johanna Lindsey, Elizabeth Lowell, Judith McNaught, Fern Michaels, and Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.

The acquisition is part of NewStar Publishing's strategic plan of expanding and increasing its distribution of audio books into new and previously untapped outlets. NewStar's audio book line, Dove Audio, is one of the largest independent audio book publishers. According to NewStar Publisher Geoff Hannell, the Romance Alive Library will help spearhead Dove Audio's recent arrangement with UAV Corporation, a major distributor to Walmart, K-Mart, grocery store chains and thousands of other outlets.

"Dove Audio continues to publish original titles such as the upcoming 'Titanic Disaster Hearings' with 25 readers, as well as noteworthy fiction and non-fiction read by celebrated authors and performing artists," Hannell emphasizes. "With Romance Alive, we are capitalizing on the burgeoning acceptance and demand for mass market audio product by moving into the romance market."
